FAQ
Q: Will Acrylic ruin my nails?
A: No, not at all ,only a bad nail technician, or poor aftercare will damage your nails. unfortunatley this happens quite often, which is why you may have heard some horror stories about acrylic wrecking your nails, sometimes clients bite or pry off enhancements rather than have them safely removed by a trained professional, this can result in painful nail damage. The reason you should not do this, is because the products are designed to stay on the nails and form a strong bond with the keratin. So of course when you try to remove them with force layers of you nail plate comes of with it.
Q: Why do my nails feel weak, when I have the Enhancements removed?
A: Your nails probably feel weak after having enhancements removed because of two things, either you have had them soaking in acetone for quite a while during removal ,this will cause them to feel weak, just the same as when you have been sitting in the bath for a while!
or it is simply a change in sensation, your nails have been used to having a strong overlay on them...this has now been removed.causing a FEELING of weakness...after a few days they will feel just as they always have, it will help if you apply cuticle oil at least 3 times a day.
Q: How often do i need to have my Enhancements removed?
A: They don't actually ever need to be removed, (unless you need them removed for medical reasons) they can stay on and be maintained regularly without any problems. Although nails are porus, they are made of dead keratinised cells, they do NOT need breathe, If you choose to have a break from having enhancements applied, then this is absolutley fine. But it will probably make no difference to your natural nails whatsoever if they are healthy to begin with.
Q: What should I do if I have a problem with my nails after a treatment ?
A: If you are experiencing any discomfort , pain, swelling, etc... after a treatment , contact your technician as soon as possible.
they will be able to offer advice to you. If you are experiencing and problems with a treatment you have had , such as enamel chipping, enhancements breaking or lifting, again contact your technician as soon as you can, do not be scared to ask questions your nail technician will be only to pleased to help you . It may be that these problems are down to a simple thing that can be rectified. A Good professional technician will strive to get to the root of the problem and work with you to solve it and ensure it doesnt continue to happen. But.......
Dont always assume that the technician is to blame, it may be something as simple as your desired shape is not suitable for your lifestyle, or you have not followed the aftercare correctly.
